This year's Fall
Festival will take you back in time to the days
of A Renaissance Faire. Plan to spend the day at
FUMC DeSoto
to
enjoy our version of a day with kings, queens,
knights and court jesters.
We begin at 7:30
a.m. with the opening of the Renaissance
Marketplace, where you can find baked goods,
crafts, used books, DVDs, CDs and a plant sale.
We'll have three meals during the day--the
Knight's Pancake Breakfast, the Queen and her
Royal Court's Luncheon and the King of the Realm's Feast at 5:30.
Bring the
kids--there's plenty to do. Photos with Santa
will be taken from 9-11 a.m., and Renaissance
period characters will appear onstage from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m. for photos with children and
adults. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. children will be
able to enjoy the Kid's Kingdom, which will
feature a new bouncy castle, safety-first
medieval jousting and archery, a ring toss and
other games. A face painter give them a new
look, and a balloon sculptor will twist and turn
balloons into items of fantasy. For more
permanent memories, children can go to the "make
and take" crafts area and construct many items
to take home.
During the
afternoon, all ages will enjoy the Court
Jester's Stage where entertainment begins with
the "Snake Encounter" at 1 p.m.
Along the way,
you can find your favorite items in the Silent
Auction and keep bidding throughout the day.
Take a look at the auction items and the two
items in the prize drawing, a hard-to-find
Nintendo Wii game system and a digital camera.
You can purchase your tickets for the prize
drawing all day long. The drawing will be held
during the auction, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
Silent Auction results will also be announced at
that time.
